Galtymore, Mountain summit between County Limerick and County Tipperary, Ireland
Galtymore rises to 918 meters, making it the highest point in both County Limerick and County Tipperary within the Galty Mountains range.
The summit area, known as Dawson's Table, received its name from Captain Dawson, a local landowner during the late nineteenth century.
The name translates from Irish 'Cnoc Mór na nGaibhlte', while the mountain holds deep connections to local legends about Saint Patrick and serpents.
The Black Road Route provides access to the summit, with King's Yard in Kilbehenny serving as the main starting point with parking facilities.
A white iron cross, erected in 1975 near the summit, receives annual paint maintenance to preserve its visibility across the landscape.
