Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair

Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair is a modern theatre with around 300 seats located in County Donegal's Gaeltacht region. The venue hosts regular performances throughout the year, with productions presented primarily in the Irish language.

The theatre was founded in 1962 by actress Siobhán McKenna and became a vital centre for Irish language performances. Its establishment supported the work of the Aisteoirí Ghaoth Dobhair acting group in preserving the heritage of the Irish language.

The theatre serves as a hub for Irish language performances in one of northwest Ireland's largest Gaelic-speaking communities. Regular productions of plays, pantomimes, and musical shows shape the cultural life of the region.

The theatre is situated near Mount Errigal and maintains regular programming throughout the year. Translation services are available for visitors who do not speak Irish.
