Ha'penny Bridge, Cast iron footbridge in Temple Bar, Ireland

The Ha'penny Bridge spans 43 meters across the River Liffey with decorative iron railings, curved walkway and three pierced lamp standards along its length.

The Coalbrookdale Company from Shropshire constructed this pedestrian crossing in 1816, when people paid half a penny to walk between the river banks.

The structure stands as a central meeting point in Dublin where locals and visitors gather to photograph the waterfront and surrounding Georgian architecture.

Located between Lower Ormond Quay and Wellington Quay, the bridge provides a direct path for pedestrians moving between the north and south sides of Dublin.

The elliptical arch design incorporates cast iron segments bolted together, demonstrating an early example of industrial revolution engineering techniques in Ireland.
