O'Connell Bridge House, Office building near O'Connell Bridge, Dublin, Ireland
The 12-story O'Connell Bridge House features a concrete and glass exterior with Portland stone cladding, reaching a height of 44.2 meters on D'Olier Street.
The 1965 structure replaced Carlisle House from 1779, costing one million Irish pounds under the development of John Byrne and architect Desmond FitzGerald.
The building's northern facade displays a clock and large advertising spaces, which generated revenue exceeding the income from all office rentals combined.
The building contains 45,000 square feet of office space across multiple floors, yet lacks parking facilities due to construction regulation waivers in the 1960s.
A bomb explosion at the Film Centre Cinema's rear exit in November 1972 resulted in injuries to forty people inside O'Connell Bridge House.
