Banna Strand, Atlantic beach in County Kerry, Ireland
The 10-kilometer sandy beach stretches along Tralee Bay, with sand dunes reaching heights of 12 meters and views of Kerry Head and Dingle Peninsula.
In April 1916, Roger Casement landed from a German U-boat at Banna Strand during an operation to secure weapons for the Easter Rising.
The beach location influenced the creation of traditional Irish rebel songs and now features a monument commemorating the 1916 landing of Roger Casement.
The beach includes a large parking area with disabled access, lifeguard service from June to August, and a surf school with equipment rentals.
The sand dunes form a designated Special Area of Conservation, providing habitats for multiple species of wildfowl and coastal plants.
