Tinnakill Castle, Medieval castle ruins in County Laois, Ireland.
The four-story limestone tower house stands with dimensions of 10 meters by 11.8 meters in the parish of Coolbanagher, Portnahinch Barony.
Built in 1450 by Eoin Carragh MacDonnell, the castle was confiscated after James MacDonnell participated in the Irish Rebellion of 1641.
The castle's name comes from the Irish 'Tigh na Coille', meaning House of the Wood, and featured a carved sheela na gig figure on its second floor.
The castle remains are accessible to visitors exploring the historical structures of County Laois, alongside approximately 40 other ancient buildings in the region.
The castle walls display punch-dressed limestone blocks with refined margins for quoins, indicating construction techniques from the late sixteenth century.
