Reginald's Tower, Fortified tower in Waterford, Ireland.
Built with thick stone walls that taper upward, this cylindrical tower stands 54 feet high with a diameter of 42 feet at its base.
The structure, completed between 1253 and 1280, replaced an earlier Viking fortification and served as a mint, prison, and military storehouse throughout medieval times.
The tower exhibits Viking artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations, including swords and decorated weights dating back to 850 AD.
Located at the eastern end of the Waterford quay, the tower opens daily from March to December between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM.
A cannonball from Cromwell's 1650 siege remains lodged in the tower wall, marking one of the earliest recorded uses of artillery in Ireland.
