Kilfane Church is a medieval ruin in County Kilkenny featuring Gothic stonework and original interior elements. The building contains three doorways with pointed arch stones, an altar, a basin for washing, and recessed areas carved into the walls.

The church was founded in the 13th century and served the Cantwell family, who held power as lords of this territory after the Norman invasion. Their influence lasted until the later upheavals that changed Ireland's religious and political landscape.

A limestone carving of a Norman knight in chainmail stands upright inside, displaying the family crest of those who ruled here. This figure served as a symbol of power and authority for the local community over many generations.

The site sits roughly 5 kilometers northeast of Thomastown with accessible parking along the nearby road. Visitors can walk the grounds freely at any time without restrictions.

The limestone figure once played an unusual role in school life at this site, serving as more than just a religious monument. Children were made to kiss the stone as punishment, revealing how the space transformed over time.
