Kilfane Church, Medieval church ruins in County Kilkenny, Ireland.

The stone structure features three original doorways with ogee stones, an altar, a piscina, and multiple recesses along the interior walls.

The church dates from the 13th century and belonged to the Cantwell family, who were Lords of Kilfane after the Norman conquest until the Confederation.

The Cantwell Fada, a limestone effigy of a Norman knight in chainmail armor, stands over two meters tall and displays the Cantwell family arms.

Located 5 kilometers northeast of Thomastown, the church grounds offer roadside parking and free access to visitors throughout the year.

During its time as a schoolhouse, students received punishment by being forced to kiss the stone effigy of the Norman knight.
