Beit Sholem Aleichem

The Beit Sholem Aleichem center features exhibition spaces, a library, and rooms dedicated to preserving and promoting Yiddish literature and Jewish heritage.

Founded in 1966 by Yitzhak Dov Berkowitz, the center initially served as an archive for the works of renowned Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichem.

The center organizes lectures, workshops, and performances that focus on Eastern European Jewish history and the continuing relevance of Yiddish language.

Located at Berkowitz Street 2 in Tel Aviv, the center offers subsidized Yiddish language courses and maintains a comprehensive collection of literary materials.

The building, designed by architect Uriel Kahana, includes a museum room displaying original editions, family photographs, and playbills from Sholem Aleichem's works.
