Olesh

Olesh is an agricultural moshav located in the Hefer Valley, situated on the Sharon plain with homes and working fields interspersed throughout. The settlement spreads across terrain at around 35 meters elevation, maintaining its farming character.

The settlement was established in 1949 by Romanian immigrants who named it after the chicory plants that grew abundantly in the surrounding lands. This founding moment shaped the community's character from its beginning.

Residents here maintain farming traditions and share common workspaces and community gathering places that shape daily life. These shared spaces serve as focal points for regular meetings and agricultural cooperation among families.

The moshav connects easily to major towns in central Israel through direct roads, making it accessible for visitors traveling in the region. Local roads run through residential areas and farming zones, allowing you to explore at your own pace.

During the late 1990s, the moshav underwent a major expansion that doubled its physical size and changed its original settlement layout. This growth marked a significant turning point in how the community was organized spatially.
