Beit Lessin Theater, Theatrical company in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Beit Lessin Theater stages productions ranging from classic dramas to contemporary works in a renovated building at Dizingoff Street 101 in Tel Aviv. The venue offers improved technical facilities and increased seating capacity, allowing for larger productions such as musicals and elaborate theatrical performances.
Founded in 1980 by Yaakov Agmon for the Histadrut organization, the theater moved to its current location in 2003, taking over the former Cameri Theater space. This relocation marked a turning point as it began focusing on Israeli material.
The theater presents adaptations of international plays while focusing on original Israeli productions that reflect current social and political situations in the country.
The theater is located on a busy street in central Tel Aviv and is easily accessible by public transportation. Visitors should arrive early to secure good seating and explore the neighborhood before the show.
Under Zippi Pines' management since 1993, the theater shifted its focus to Israeli material, with the play Mikveh winning the Israeli Theater Prize in 2005. This recognition helped establish it as a major platform for local artistic voices.
