Palmachim beach

Palmachim is a protected nature reserve and national park along the Mediterranean coast south of Tel Aviv, featuring limestone cliffs, natural caves, and sand dunes. The shoreline displays varied terrain with distinctive rock formations that extend along the coastal plain.

The ruins of Yavne-Yam within the park reveal an ancient port city that operated from the Bronze Age through medieval times. Archaeological digs in the limestone caves have uncovered artifacts from multiple periods of human occupation.

The beach serves as a nesting site for sea turtles during summer months, making it a place where wildlife protection shapes how visitors move through the area. Local conservation efforts mean certain zones remain off-limits to protect these animals.
