Steinhardt Museum of Natural History, Natural history museum at Tel Aviv University, Israel
The Steinhardt Museum spans 9,620 square meters and houses scientific collections containing 5.5 million specimens of flora and fauna from Israel and Middle East regions.
The museum, which opened in 2018, preserves the collections of Father Ernst Schmitz, including the last wild Nile crocodile captured in Ottoman Palestine.
The museum functions as Israel's National Center for Biodiversity Studies, supporting over 500 scientists and students in ecological research each year.
Visitors can explore the museum Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday until 3:00 PM, and Saturday until 6:00 PM at Klausner Street 12.
The building's architecture follows a 'Treasure Box' concept, featuring nine themed exhibitions across 1,700 square meters of display space.
