Ora cinema, Haifa, Movie theater in Haifa, Israel
The Orah Cinema building features Art Moderne architectural elements, including bright multi-colored ceramic tiles adorning the walls of its small bar area.
German architect Oskar Kaufmann designed the cinema in 1935, and after a fire in 1946, architect Eugen Stolzer carried out reconstruction work.
The theater contained over 1000 seats across orchestra and balcony levels, making it a central entertainment venue for Haifa residents during the 1930s.
Located at 18 Herzl Street, the cinema structure now contains small retail businesses in what was formerly the lobby space.
The cinema incorporated an unconventional design feature with its foyer positioned beneath the balcony, departing from standard theater layouts of the period.
