TIDEL Park, Chennai, Technology park in Tharamani, Chennai, India
TIDEL Park is an information technology building in Tharamani, Chennai, India, rising 13 floors with glass facades and air conditioning throughout. Offices spread across multiple levels, with shared meeting rooms and service facilities located throughout the tower.
The building opened in 2000 as one of the first major IT centers outside the city core of Chennai. Its completion helped transform the Tharamani neighborhood into a technology corridor that later attracted similar projects.
The name comes from Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation and Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu, now shortened to TIDEL by everyday users. Office workers fill the cafeterias during lunch breaks, while delivery drivers navigate the ground floor lobbies throughout the day.
Tharamani metro station lies within walking distance and provides direct access to the rest of Chennai. Visitors can enter the ground floor area but need prior clearance or an appointment to access office floors.
The building uses rooftop rainwater harvesting systems to supplement water supply during monsoon season. These collection tanks feed into sanitation and cooling systems during the heavy rainfall months.
