Madhya Kailash

Madhya Kailash is a Hindu temple in Chennai situated at a major road junction that honors multiple deities. The temple contains shrines dedicated to Venkata Ananda Vinayakar, Shiva, Surya, the Mother Goddess, and Vishnu, all accessible within its grounds.

The temple began as a modest shrine and gradually expanded as the local community requested additional temples for different gods. This incremental growth transformed it into a multi-deity worship site that served the spiritual needs of its surroundings.

The name refers to Mount Kailash, sacred in Hindu mythology as the dwelling place of Shiva. Visitors can observe how the temple's bells, each with distinct tones, integrate into the daily worship practices and ceremonies.

The temple sits at a busy intersection and is easy to locate on foot, especially when approaching from nearby main roads. Visitors should allow time to walk through the different shrines since they are spread across the grounds.

A distinctive statue shows Lord Ganesha on one side and Lord Hanuman on the other within the same figure. This dual representation often goes unnoticed by visitors at first glance but reveals itself upon closer inspection.
