Anna Centenary Library is a nine-floor state library in Kotturpuram, Chennai, built on 8 acres with 333,140 sq ft of floor area and shelving for 1.2 million books. Its white panel facade carries the Tamil inscription "அண்ணா நூற்றாண்டு நூலகம்" and a circular red-bordered emblem above a red ribbon; a white grid overhang projects above the central section, and a ground-level sign points to the Reception, General Library, Auditorium and Food Court. A 5 ft bronze statue of C. N. Annadurai stands at the entrance, and a seven-storey atrium lights the reading floors.

The foundation stone was laid on 16 August 2008 by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, and the library opened on 15 September 2010, the 102nd birth anniversary of C. N. Annadurai. In 2011 the AIADMK government proposed converting the building into a paediatric hospital; the Madras High Court stayed the move after protests by writers and students.

The Tamil collection on the second floor is split into 'A' and 'B' sections: 'A' holds Annadurai's own writings and books about him, Periyar's works, plus law, medicine and agriculture; 'B' holds Sangam literature, poetry, novels and Sri Lankan Tamil history. A newspaper section keeps Tamil, English, Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu titles, and every Tamil periodical published is stocked. A literary event, 'Ponmalai Pozhudhu', is held each Saturday.

The library opens at 8:00 am; the ground-floor Own Book Reading Section admits readers by token, with the first 90 tokens entering at 8:00 and others waiting until 9:00 for the first-floor section. Parking holds about 420 cars and 1,030 two-wheelers. A white sign at the base directs visitors to the Reception, General Library, Auditorium and Food Court.

The building received LEED Gold certification in 2010 and was the first library building in Asia to achieve this award. This recognition demonstrates commitment to sustainable design and environmental responsibility in how the place was built.
