Panna National Park

Panna National Park is a protected area in central India covering roughly 542 square kilometers of woodland, grassland, and river valley landscape. The terrain shifts between dense deciduous forest and more open zones along the Ken River, where vegetation becomes sparser.

The area served as a hunting reserve for rulers and nobility until 1981, when it gained official national park status. This designation launched systematic conservation efforts to protect endangered animal populations in the region.

The Ken River holds deep meaning for communities living nearby, who have depended on it for water and food across generations. Local stories and traditions still reflect the river's central role in people's lives.

The best time to visit is between October and June when temperatures are more pleasant and animals are easier to spot. Morning and afternoon safari tours let visitors experience wildlife during their most active periods.

The Ken River valley features striking waterfalls like Raneh Falls, known for their colorful rock formations displaying warm oranges and deep reds. These cliff formations reveal millions of years of geological history layered into the stone.
