Revolutionary Socialist Party, Political party headquarters in New Delhi, India
The Revolutionary Socialist Party is a communist grouping in New Delhi that has advocated for workers' rights and social equality since its founding. It maintains offices in several Indian states and coordinates political actions as well as trade union work from its headquarters on Firoz Shah Road.
Tridib Chaudhuri founded this leftist movement in 1940 when former fighters from Anushilan Samiti and the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army joined forces. The grouping later developed into an independent political force with strong support in Bengal and southern Indian regions.
The organisation publishes several regional newspapers that cover labour issues from a Marxist perspective and are distributed directly to union members. These publications appear regularly in Bengali and Malayalam and reach readers in West Bengal as well as Kerala.
The headquarters is located in the central government district of New Delhi and opens during regular office hours. Visitors should be aware that this is an active workplace where party members and union representatives come and go daily.
In 2000 part of the membership broke away after Baby John founded a separate Bolshevik faction in Kerala and permanently divided the movement into two competing camps. This split led to parallel organisations that still operate separately today and each field their own candidates in elections.
