Armenian Church, Chennai, Armenian religious building in George Town, Chennai, India.

The Armenian Church features white walls, arched windows, and a central belfry tower containing six large bells weighing 200 kilograms each.

Established in 1712 and reconstructed in 1772, the church served Armenian merchants who controlled trade routes between India, West Asia, and Manila.

The churchyard contains 350 graves of Armenian residents, including Reverend Haroutiun Shmavonian who published the first Armenian periodical Azdarar.

Located at 60/116 Armenian Street near High Court, the church opens daily from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM with free admission for visitors.

The bells of the church ring every Sunday morning at 9:30, producing sounds that reach across the George Town district of Chennai.
