Great Western Building

The Great Western Building is a multi-story structure near Apollo Bunder with tall windows and stone masonry walls that reflect its age. Today it combines original architectural features with modern uses, housing different types of businesses on various floors.

It was built in 1764 as the residence of Bombay's Governor and later served as the Admiralty House from 1770 to 1795. This shift in purpose reflected changing colonial administrative needs in the growing port city.
