Kayarohanaswami Temple, Nagapattinam

Kayarohanaswami Temple is a Hindu shrine in Nagapattinam featuring the distinctive tower gateways and intricate stone carvings typical of southern Indian temple architecture. The main sanctum is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the goddess Nilayathakshi.

The shrine was established in the 6th century and underwent modifications over time under different ruling dynasties. Construction and renovation work by Pallavas, Cholas, and Vijayanagara rulers left their mark on the temple's structure.
