Meenkulathi Temple

Meenkulathi Temple is a Hindu place of worship in Pallassana village, Kerala, featuring two entry points on its north and west sides. A temple tank lies next to the western entrance, forming an important part of the sanctuary's layout.

The temple was founded centuries ago by three families of the Veerasaiva Mannadiar clan who left Chidambaram to escape a severe drought. This migration from southern Tamil Nadu shaped the spiritual roots of the site and its community.

The temple draws visitors during its eight-day Maasi festival, when traditional Ottamthullal and Kathakali performances bring Hindu epic stories to life on its grounds. These art forms remain central to how the local community celebrates and passes down its heritage.

The temple opens on specific days of the week for visitors, with prayer times mainly in the early morning hours. Visiting early in the day helps you experience the place quietly and respectfully during its most active worship periods.
