Metro Cinema is a 1930s-style movie theater in Kolkata featuring a distinctive facade with vertical lines and geometric patterns. The renovated building now houses two screens with a combined 422 seats, along with retail spaces and a food court.

The building opened in 1935, designed by American architect Thomas W. Lamb and initially managed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios. It stands as one of the most notable examples of Art Deco architecture built during the colonial period in the city.

The cinema became a hub for Hindi-language films after 1972, reflecting how local audiences' tastes evolved over time. Today, it serves the neighborhood as a gathering place for cinema enthusiasts.

The location is in the Esplanade area, a central part of Kolkata, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Visitors can find modern conveniences like retail spaces and dining options conveniently within the same building.
