Vajrapoha Falls, Cascade waterfall in Belgaum district, Karnataka, India
The Vajrapoha Falls plunge 200 meters down steep rocky cliffs, creating multiple tiers of flowing water within the Western Ghats mountain range.
The Mandovi River shaped this geological formation over centuries, carving deep channels through the rocks of the Sahyadri mountains.
Local communities from Gavali and Chapoli villages gather at the waterfall during festivals to celebrate the natural water source's connection to their agricultural heritage.
Visitors can reach the falls via a 90-minute drive from Belgaum city, with the monsoon season between June and October offering the strongest water flow.
The waterfall receives up to 5,700 millimeters of annual rainfall, feeding multiple streams that support agriculture in five surrounding villages.
