Vajrapoha Falls

Vajrapoha Falls is a tiered waterfall in the Western Ghats that plunges over steep rocky cliffs in multiple cascades. The water flows down through layers of rock formations, creating a dramatic landscape where the terrain guides the water's path.

The Mandovi River carved these falls over centuries through constant erosion of the rock layers. Steady water flow gradually shaped the rocky landscape that exists today.

Local communities from Gavali and Chapoli villages gather at the waterfall during festivals to celebrate the natural water source's connection to their agricultural heritage.

The drive takes about 90 minutes from Belgaum city, with the monsoon months from June to October offering the strongest water flow. This season provides the most dramatic views of the waterfalls.

The region receives significant annual rainfall that feeds multiple streams supporting agriculture in surrounding villages. This water abundance makes the location a vital source for local water supply.
