Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, Hindu temple in Tirumala Hills, India.
Tirumala Venkateswara is a Hindu temple standing on Venkatadri peak in the Tirumala Hills near Tirupati. The complex shows Dravidian design through tall gateway towers, pillared halls, and finely carved stone panels arranged across multiple courtyards.
The shrine traces its beginnings to the 4th century when early structures appeared on the hill. Later dynasties including the Chola, Pandya and Vijayanagara added towers, halls and endowments over many centuries.
Millions of pilgrims participate in daily rituals, including Arjitha Sevas and special prayers, maintaining centuries-old traditions of worship to Lord Venkateswara.
Pilgrims can stay in guest houses and receive free meals through the Annaprasadam Trust during their visit. The Seeghra Darshan service reduces waiting times for those with less time or arriving during major festivals.
More than 24 million visitors come here each year, making it one of the most visited religious sites in the world. The administration also manages a wide network of guest houses and support facilities around the temple.
