The concrete structure stretches 1,207 meters across the Sabarmati River, featuring 12 radial spillways with a height of 45.87 meters.

The construction of Dharoi Dam started in 1971 and concluded in 1978, requiring an investment of 96 crore rupees at that time.

The dam transformed the agricultural landscape of North Gujarat, providing irrigation to 31,393 hectares of farmland and supporting local communities.

The reservoir maintains a capacity of 908.6 million cubic meters, supplying water to Ahmedabad city located 85 kilometers from the structure.

The dam project led to the submergence of 47 villages and reshaped the region with 349 hectares of forest and 7,489 hectares of farmland underwater.
