Julto Pul, Steel suspension footbridge in Morbi, India

Julto Pul is a steel suspension footbridge that spans across the Machhu River as a pedestrian-only crossing. The structure uses steel cables and components to carry people safely over the water below.

The bridge was completed in 1879 during the period of British colonial rule in India. It was built to connect distant parts of the settlement that were previously difficult to reach on foot.

The footbridge serves as a daily crossing point where local people meet and pass through on their routines. It connects different neighborhoods and makes it easy for neighbors to move between areas of the city.

The easiest access is from Morbi's central area, where signage and marked routes lead to both entry points. Wear comfortable shoes since the narrow surface means you need to watch your step carefully.

The bridge ranks among India's earliest steel suspension structures and displays engineering methods from the 1800s. Its cable design and construction approach were noteworthy for that era, even though the design looks simple today.
