Bhuchar Mori

Bhuchar Mori is a plateau containing memorial stones and monuments spread across a large compound northwest of Dhrol town in Gujarat. The site features several shrines dedicated to Ram, Lakshman, and Bhutnath, along with 32 memorial stones placed within the grounds.

This site marks where a major battle took place in July 1591 between Kathiawar forces and the Mughal army, with over 10,000 casualties from the conflict. The monuments were later created as a memorial to those who died in this clash.

A fair held on the last day of the Shravana month draws thousands of visitors who come to pay respects at the memorial stones scattered across the compound. The celebration shows how deeply local communities connect with this place and its history.

The compound is openly laid out and accessible, allowing visitors to walk freely between the various monuments and shrines at their own pace. Plan to spend a good amount of time exploring the full site if you want to see all the memorial stones and understand the layout.

The site features a mounted statue of commander Ajaji and his wife Surajkunwarba, standing apart among the memorial stones and shrines. Eight additional stones honor fallen Mughal soldiers, showing how this place remembers people from different sides of the conflict.
