The Smritivan Earthquake Memorial and Museum extends across 470 acres featuring seven thematic blocks, 50 check dams, and an extensive network of pathways.
Following the devastating 2001 Gujarat earthquake that claimed 13,000 lives, authorities established this memorial site, which opened to visitors in August 2022.
Each block in the museum presents different perspectives on earth sciences, local geology, disaster response, and community rebuilding through interactive exhibits and galleries.
The memorial complex operates from Tuesday through Sunday, with the museum open from 10 AM to 6 PM and the park grounds accessible from 5 AM to 11 PM.
The memorial incorporates a Miyawaki forest of 300,000 plants and features a 5D earthquake simulation experience that recreates the 2001 tremors.
