Ranade Institute, Heritage educational institute in Deccan Gymkhana, India

The Ranade Institute stands on Fergusson College Road, containing both the Department of Communication and Journalism and Department of Foreign Languages of Pune University.

Built in 1910, the institute received its official recognition as a regular department of the University of Pune in 1976 after years of development.

The institute expanded its educational offerings from journalism to mass communication, incorporating changes in media education through specialized diploma and degree programs.

Students can enroll in master's programs for journalism and mass communication, along with language courses ranging from elementary to postgraduate levels.

The Department of Communication and Journalism began with a Rs.10,000 endowment from Shri K. A. Kolhatkar in 1956, establishing the Sandeshkar Kolhatkar Scholarship.
