City Theater of Tehran, National performing arts complex in District 11, Tehran, Iran.
The circular building, measuring 34 meters in diameter and 15 meters in height, features multiple performance spaces including halls of Cheharsou and Qashqai.
The theater opened in 1972 with Anton Chekhov's Cherry Orchard play, replacing the former Shahrdari Cafe at the intersection of Valiasr and Enghelab Streets.
The architectural design incorporates elements from Iranian heritage, including influences from the Tughral Tower and traditional Iranian brick craftsmanship from the Ilkhan period.
The complex contains five distinct halls for different audience capacities and remains open six days per week, with Saturday being the closing day.
The absence of boundary fences allows direct access to the surrounding paved area in Daneshjoo Park, enabling spontaneous street performances around the structure.
