Hafnarhús contains six exhibition galleries spread across multiple floors, presenting both temporary exhibitions and permanent collections throughout the year.
The structure served as a harbor warehouse until 2000, when extensive renovations transformed it into a modern exhibition space within Reykjavik Art Museum.
The museum maintains a substantial collection of works by Icelandic pop artist Erró, displaying them through rotating exhibitions in dedicated galleries.
Located at Tryggvagata 17, the museum opens daily from 10:00 to 17:00, with extended hours until 22:00 on Thursdays, offering guided tours upon request.
The building includes a multipurpose room that hosts diverse events, from rock concerts to poetry readings, alongside its regular art exhibitions.
