Veroli

Veroli is a medieval town in the Province of Frosinone situated on hills at about 594 meters elevation. Narrow streets wind through the settlement connecting stone buildings from different periods that form the core of daily life today.

The settlement originated with the Ernici people and later became a Roman municipium in 90 BC. The establishment of a bishopric here in 743 AD transformed it into a major religious center.

The Cathedral Treasury displays medieval religious objects and artworks that reflect the town's spiritual heritage. Visitors can see how religious devotion and artistic craftsmanship intertwined across centuries.

Veroli is accessible by bus from Frosinone, with regular services connecting the lower areas to the town center. Early morning visits offer a quieter experience as the narrow streets are less crowded at that time.

Remains of the Fasti Verulani can be found in the town, a marble Roman calendar that documented official holidays and celebrations of ancient Rome. This artifact reveals how Roman officials recorded the year's official rhythm.
