Legnago

Legnago is a commune in the Province of Verona that stretches along the Adige River, featuring a flat landscape typical of northern Italy. The town sits roughly 43 kilometers west of Verona and has a central train station that links it to other places across the region.

The town played a strategic role as part of the Austrian fortress system during the nineteenth-century control of Lombardy-Venetia. These fortifications were part of a broader military structure that governed the region at that time.

The composer Antonio Salieri was born here, and his legacy is honored through regular musical performances held each autumn. This tradition connects the town to its artistic roots and shapes local cultural life.

Viale Stazione train station is the central transport hub of the town and offers regular rail connections to larger places across the region. From here you can easily explore other cities in the Veneto or discover the town on foot.

The Torrione, a tower from the 14th century, is the last surviving remnant of the medieval defensive walls. This solitary tower recalls the former defensive structure and today stands as a distinctive feature of the townscape.
