Tocco da Casauria is a small commune in the Province of Pescara that sits on a hilltop between the Pescara River and the Arolle stream. The Maiella mountain range forms a natural backdrop to the landscape.
The village was founded in the 11th century as documented in the Chronicon Casauriensis under the leadership of Gerardo di Rocco. The name comes from the Benedictine abbey of Casauria that once stood in this area.
The town celebrates the Feast of Saint Eustace each September 20th, bringing together residents for religious ceremonies and traditional festivities point.
The place is easily reached via the A25 motorway with the Torre de' Passeri exit or through the state road 5. Visitors find a quiet setting without large crowds, ideal for exploring at your own pace.
