Province of Olbia-Tempio, Former province in northeastern Sardinia, Italy.
Olbia-Tempio was an administrative region in northeastern Sardinia spanning from the Tyrrhenian Sea toward the Strait of Bonifacio. The territory contained numerous municipalities with diverse landscapes ranging from coastal towns to inland settlements.
This province came into being in 2005 through regional legislation that reorganized parts of neighboring administrative areas. It ceased to exist in 2016 when a regional decree dissolved this territorial arrangement.
The province included major centers Olbia and Tempio Pausania along with coastal settlements, representing the traditions of the historic Gallura region.
Today visitors can explore two main centers as reference points: the coastal city of Olbia and Tempio Pausania in the inland region. Visiting both places provides a sense of the geographic variety that once characterized this territory.
The territory operated under a distinctive dual-capital system, with administrative functions split between the coastal city of Olbia and inland Tempio Pausania.
