Tremosine, Municipality in Lombardy, Italy
Tremosine is a sparse municipality in the Province of Brescia on the western shore of Lake Garda. The municipality consists of 18 scattered villages connected across terrain that rises from the lakeshore to higher elevations.
The area was settled during the Roman period, when wealthy families built villas here. In 1426, the territory came under Venetian rule.
The community is known for its olive groves and vineyards, which have been cultivated by residents for generations. These agricultural traditions shape the landscape and daily life throughout the area.
The municipality is reachable by public transportation from nearby Brescia, with regular bus services connecting the various villages. The journey from there typically takes about an hour to reach the main settlement of Pieve.
The Strada della Forra is a remarkable road that cuts through a narrow gorge in the mountains. This route connects the lakeshore settlement of Campione with the higher town and offers dramatic views of the rock walls during the drive.
