Church of Saint Mary in Valle Porclaneta

The Church of Saint Mary in Valle Porclaneta stands at 1022 meters elevation on Monte Velino slopes, featuring a central nave with two smaller side naves separated by arcades.

The church, completed in 1048, received jurisdiction from Montecassino Abbey during the eleventh century and underwent several architectural modifications through the medieval period.

The stone ambon, created in 1150 by master Nicodemus, displays intricate carvings depicting biblical scenes, including David fighting a bear and Jonah with the whale.
