Church of Saint Mary in Valle Porclaneta

Church of Saint Mary in Valle Porclaneta is a Romanesque building located on a mountainside near Magliano de' Marsi, featuring a central nave with two smaller side naves separated by arcades. The interior displays a clear structure created by arches that divide the space and define the building's character.

The building was completed in 1048 and received jurisdiction from Montecassino Abbey during the eleventh century. It underwent several architectural changes throughout the medieval period that shaped its appearance.

The stone ambo created in 1150 by master Nicodemus displays intricate carvings depicting biblical scenes such as David fighting a bear and Jonah with the whale. These carved details tell stories that visitors can discover while looking closely at the work.
