Punta Secca, Italian hamlet
Punta Secca is a small coastal settlement on the southern coast of Sicily in the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina. The village sits along a flat sandy beach bordered by low limestone cliffs that give way to a quiet residential area with scattered houses and local amenities.
The settlement originated as a fishing village and retained this character for centuries. Modern growth arrived in the mid-20th century when inland residents began building homes here, gradually transforming it from a simple working harbor into a residential community.
The beach is easy to access and offers good swimming conditions during warm months, with calm waters suitable for all ages. Local restaurants and cafes line the waterfront, and parking is available near the shore.
The village gained fame as the filming location for the Italian television series Inspector Montalbano, which depicted the fictional town of Vigata using locations here. Many visitors come specifically to see the places featured in the television show.
