The church was founded in 1734 under Pope Clement XII with architect Ludovico Rusconi Sassi directing its design. The adjacent cloister followed later, completed between 1760 and 1764 under the architect Giovanni Francesco Fiori.
The main altar displays 'The Dream of St. Joseph' by Mariano Rossi, while side walls present oil paintings of biblical scenes.
