Neugersdorfer Hütte, Alpine refuge at 2568 meters in Prettau, Italy.

The Rifugio Vetta d'Italia stands on the southwestern flank of the mountain peak, providing shelter and services for mountaineers traversing the high-altitude trails.

Established in 1905, the mountain refuge was assigned to the Italian Financial Guard after World War I, who transformed it into a border control station.

The mountain hut serves as a meeting point where Italian and German-speaking communities connect, reflecting the bilingual heritage of South Tyrol.

The refuge maintains regular operations during summer months, offering accommodation and meals to hikers who reach its location through marked mountain paths.

The structure remains under the management of the Italian Financial Guard, making it the only alpine refuge in Italy operated by a law enforcement agency.
