Casa Littoria, Bolzano, Rationalist government building in Bolzano, Italy.

Casa Littoria is a government building in rationalist style that rises with its curved facade and monumental pediment across from the courthouse on Piazza del Tribunale. The structure combines geometric forms with solid stone construction and currently serves as the seat of various state offices.

The building was constructed between 1939 and 1942 under the direction of architects Guido Pellizzari, Francesco Rossi, and Luis Plattner, serving as the Fascist Party headquarters. It was later converted into an administrative building and now houses financial authorities and various regional offices.

The building displays a monumental stone bas-relief by Hans Piffrader that dominates the facade and draws attention through its imposing scale.

The building is easy to view from the outside and sits centrally on Piazza del Tribunale, where it stands out clearly from its surroundings. Visitors can observe the facade and stone relief at leisure, with the square and adjacent courthouse providing additional context.

In 2017, an illuminated inscription with a Hannah Arendt quote was installed next to the original facade, creating a conversation between history and contemporary perspectives. This intervention transforms the building into a space for reflection on its own past.
