Palazzo Valmarana is a Renaissance palace in Vicenza designed with a monumental facade featuring pilasters that rise across multiple levels and ornamental classical details. The interior is organized with eight separate apartments, each containing period furnishings and spatial arrangements that reflect the architectural principles of the 16th century.
Andrea Palladio designed this palace in 1565 for Isabella Nogarola Valmarana, following Renaissance architectural ideals and the principles that defined his work. The construction began that year and reflected the classical interpretation that Palladio was known for in his major commissions throughout the Veneto region.
The building represents a distinct interpretation of classical architecture, with giant columns spanning multiple floors and intricate structural relationships between interior and exterior spaces.
