Cimon della Pala, Mountain summit in Pale di San Martino, Italy

Cimon della Pala is a sharp rocky peak in the Pale di San Martino reaching 3,184 meters and dominating the surrounding Trentino landscape. Its distinctive pointed shape and vertical walls make it one of the most recognizable mountains in the region.

Edward Robson Whitwell made the first ascent in 1870 with mountain guides Santo Siorpaes and Christian Lauener. This climb marked the beginning of the mountain's recognition in alpine mountaineering history.

This peak appears on the official badge of the Guardia di Finanza, Italy's financial police force, symbolizing the deep connection between the nation's armed forces and alpine regions.

Climbers typically use the Bolver-Lugli via ferrata, a fixed-cable route with metal rungs that starts from a mountain shelter at about 3,005 meters. The route demands good physical fitness and experience with steep vertical sections.

The Travignolo glacier flows down from the peak and feeds a river of the same name that eventually joins the Avisio River system. This water connection links the alpine heights directly to the valleys below.
