Oria Cathedral

Oria Cathedral is a baroque church built with elements reflecting different construction phases in its visual design. A clock tower marks the left side of the facade while a campanile stands on the right, and the dome is decorated with polychrome tiles that catch the light.

Construction of this church began in 1750 following an earthquake that destroyed the earlier Romanesque cathedral that had stood since the 13th century. Materials salvaged from the original building were incorporated into the new baroque structure that replaced it.

The cathedral serves as the spiritual center of the community and houses artworks spanning multiple centuries that reflect the area's devotion. Visitors can experience how religious life shaped the town's identity and continues to influence its character today.
