Pieve dei Santi Vito e Modesto a Corsignano

The Pieve dei Santi Vito e Modesto features three naves divided by square pillars and exhibits a cylindrical bell tower from the 11th century.

Originally built in the 7th century, this church gained recognition as the baptism site of Pope Pius II in 1405 and his nephew Pope Pius III.

The entrance portal displays detailed sculptures depicting the Journey of the Magi and Nativity scenes within its decorated lintel and arches.

Located one kilometer from Pienza's center along Via Panoramica, the church includes a small apsidal crypt accessible through stairs near the right altar.

The interior houses a serpent sculpture known as Regolo on one of its columns, representing an ancient Roman deity from the construction period.
