Area marina protetta Penisola del Sinis - Isola Mal di Ventre, Marine protected area in Province of Oristano, Italy.
The marine sanctuary extends over 25,673 hectares, featuring sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and a lagoon separating Stagno di Mistras from Mare Morto.
The protected marine zone received official designation in December 1997 through a decree from the Ministry of Environment, published in February 1998.
Archaeological sites near Cabras reveal continuous human settlements from Neolithic times, including pre-Nuragic tombs at Cuccuru Is Arrius and ancient maritime activities.
The area divides into three protection zones: Zone A for research only, Zone B permitting fishing activities, and Zone C allowing additional regulated activities.
The waters contain extensive Posidonia oceanica meadows, providing habitats for Mediterranean lobsters, moray eels, and barracudas in their natural environment.
