The Zelantea Library and Art Gallery occupies a Neoclassical palace designed by architect Mariano Panebianco in the early 20th century.
The institution traces its origins to 1671 when the Accademia degli Zelanti was established, later merging with Accademia Dafnica in 1934.
The art collection includes works from the 17th to 19th centuries by artists such as Domenichino, Albrecht Dürer, and Luca Giordano.
The library maintains over 230,000 books, including 1,650 periodicals, 370 manuscripts, and 74 incunabula available for research purposes.
The museum exhibits a marble bust believed to represent Julius Caesar, discovered in the nearby area of Capomulini.
