Biblioteca regionale Melchiorre Dèlfico

The Melchiorre Dèlfico Regional Library is a public library housed in an impressive 18th-century palazzo in central Teramo, holding over 300,000 volumes across multiple floors. The collection includes printed books, ancient manuscripts, artworks, and photographs that together cover a wide range of subjects and knowledge areas.

The library was founded in 1811 as the library of Real Collegio di Teramo and received a major gift of 300 books from philosopher Melchiorre Dèlfico in 1826. This donation shaped the institution and gave it the name it carries today.

The library preserves manuscripts from the 18th and 19th centuries and displays Italian poetry alongside objects tied to Teramo's past. Visitors can explore these collections and discover more about the region's literary and cultural heritage.
